Motim Update on Christchurch Earthquake

December 14, 2010

While we continue to assess the impact of the magnitude 7.1 earthquake to hit Motim's office in Christchurch, New Zealand, in the early hours of Saturday September 4, we are pleased to reassure all of our partners and friends that all of our staff and families are safe and well.

While our office building in the central business district remains cordoned off during the state of emergency currently in place, structural engineers have confirmed that the building itself is undamaged due to the earthquake proofing in the structure. There is some minor damage from items falling during the earthquake, and it is likely to be several days until we are able to enter the office due to other damage in the area. Our emergency plan is in force and all staff are currently working from home, with our backup systems performing well so there should be no disruption to clients nor any loss of data.

We wish to acknowledge the tremendous work of the local authorities and emergency services, and the manner in which people have responded to such a massive natural event. We also thank those who have sent messages of support, and look forward to updating you.
