Motim was challenged with executing a concept to relate Best Buy's mobile and technology retail leadership with their new entertainment service offering, through a relationship with Universal Pictures and the movie "Despicable Me".

We developed a world-first experience by creating a mobile application that interacted directly with movie play-back, initially for an in-theater experience. By first developing a technology solution for automatically synchronizing with movie playback, Motim delivered a unique movie-going experience that created an additional level of interaction with both the movie property and the client branding.

Exceeding all targets by many times over in just the first few weeks, the stunning success of this solution led not only to a follow-up enhanced DVD version, but also interest from multiple studios in utilizing the platform as an ongoing way of engaging users beyond traditional film experiences.
